The lovely Alex & Callum held their wedding day celebrations in the gorgeous Tipis at Whatton House in Loughborough in June of last year.
Alex came to see us at our showroom with a very clear vision for her wedding styling & design, having bought lots of bits and bobs herself. She was so enthusiastic about her jungle theme that Lesley was immediately on board!
After chatting to her, we soon realised she pretty much had all of her styling items already and we didn't need to provide very much ourselves - she just needed a helping hand to pull all of her ideas & props together on the day and bring her vision to life... plus she needed a few bits of added greenery to help it all to pop!
Over to Alex to tell us more about their day...
How would you describe your wedding ceremony?
We had our ceremony at a lovely, small local church in the same village as Whatton House. Our vicar was so down to earth and made the ceremony very personal and most importantly calmed our nerves!
Tell us about your decor… why did you choose your theme?
I had my Pinterest mood board ready years before I even met my now husband! I’ve always wanted something different to the “normal” wedding colour schemes and common types of flowers and I’ve always loved anything with palm trees and a jungle vibe!
I was torn between that and a boho pampas theme so I managed to blend the two to create a sort of tropical boho theme that I absolutely loved and got so many compliments on!
I had spent months gathering the right decor pieces from second hand selling pages and nurtured many real palm plants in my house ready for the big day!
There were so many design elements included in this theme that it is really hard to showcase every little bit on a single blog post. You name it... and Alex had thought about it! She was incredibly orgainsed and focussed throughout the planning process with Lesley.
What was your favourite part of the day?
The whole day was just such a vibe, everything came together (including the weather!) to create such a great atmosphere and we are so grateful to each and every supplier for everything they did to help us achieve that.
We just wish we had even more time to soak it all up as everything goes by so quickly!
Any top tips for engaged couples?
Try and make time to enjoy all of the things you have worked so hard to plan for other people, as we didn't have time to play any of our lawn games together and we didn't have the appetite to eat any of our evening food or mini cakes - which we regretted!
Why did you choose Team Rustic?
They had such a good choice of packages and were also so flexible providing as little or as much help or props as we needed - which was great as we wanted to do some styling ourselves and provide most of the props.
As our theme was so centred around tropical foliage, we wanted a company who had the skills for floristry work to create some real wow factor pieces which they definitely delivered on!
It was also really convenient to have them do our bridal bouquets and buttonholes to tie into the overall theme which turned out gorgeous in our pictures!
As I said in my thank you card, I could not recommend Team Rustic enough, I know we were extremely fussy and particular clients and they were so patient, helpful, super talented and really importantly, personal. I was so worried about my theme pulling off and I didn't need to be as I was blown away!
