THE LUXURY WEDDING FAIR : PART ONE
Way back in September we were very lucky to be invited by Ocean Media to attend The Luxury Wedding fair at The London Olympia exhibition centre in Kensington. The show was going to be on for three whole days and we were super excited to travel down and stay in London for a work project for the very first time. (We travelled down to central London to style a fabulous corporate event earlier on in the year but we did not stay overnight, so this made it even more exciting for us – we also had to take a much bigger team of stylists with us this time.)
For the first time ever, The Luxury Wedding Fair was going to be running alongside the National Wedding Show (which was taking place downstairs at the exhibition centre simultaneously) and promised to celebrate the best in premium wedding design in a discrete VIP area.
On the list of luxury wedding exhibitors who we were lucky to be working alongside were fabulous brands such as Caroline Castigliano and Sassi Holford, Stephanie Allin, Alan Hannah, Nicki Macfarlane and a huge variety of London’s other most sought after wedding suppliers.
Also at the event were a variety of pop up experiences such as the Urban Retreat at Harrods and even had an exclusive VIP catwalk show in The Wedding Gallery - There was also the most fabulous fluffy swan chair in this area!
We were offered an exhibition stand upstairs at The Olympia in the Luxury area in exchange for some of our gorgeous venue styling.
We were given the task of decorating the large sweeping staircase which was to be the entrance to the VIP area of the show and we knew we somehow wanted to make it show stopping so we planned a large floral arrangement using a variety of textured foliage and white flowers – totally on trend in 2017 and began setting up the day before the event.
We also used a variety of floor standing silver candelabras, hurricane vases and lanterns, with faux candles and tea lights to help bring the space to life and add a bit of luxury sparkle.
At the top of the stairs we also created an entrance sign to the show using a glass frame and modern calligraphy lettering and placed a giant foliage and floral arrangement.
We really enjoyed creating the statement floral staircase and can't wait to show you our stand and more behind the scenes pictures from the show in part two.
