I met with Helen last summer at the Lovely Exton Park near Oakham to discuss her upcoming wedding to Dean scheduled for April of this year.
The brief she gave me was 'rustic, country & neutral - with white flowers and elements to match her equestrian 'hunt' themed table names.' I was instantly quite excited about this wedding as we had just taken part in an equestrian themed photo shoot at the lovely Bawdon Lodge Farm with two absolutely gorgeous horses (check out the pictures here) and was bursting with ideas.
Helen had planned to have her wedding reception in a marquee and wasn't sure what she needed in terms of decoration to make the room complete so she asked us to take the lead and plan everything for her - which we were of course more than happy to do.
The first thing that we did was set up a personalised secret Pinterest board for her on our account, where we proceeded to gather ideas and plan her day. - If you are not familiar with Pinterest (and i'm sure you are by now as it is such and amazing resource) I suggest that you check out our boards here as we have got over 50 of them bursting with pretty ideas for you to steal for your own upcoming day.
We decided to let our hessian table circles, log centre pieces and hand made ceiling bunting lead the way for the decoration and knew that the equestrian themed decor would not be complete without adding some gorgeous cast iron horseshoes - after all these are also a wedding symbol of luck are they not?!
We planned for our rustic candy cart to be used as the cake table and I think you will agree it just looks perfect with that yummy cake on it! - We do love the durability of our cart and most of our brides actually choose to use it for things other than sweets believe it or not which we really relish.
We do hope that Helen & Dean were happy with the decor we provided for them - Take a look at some of the images we captured on the morning of the wedding and let us know what you think.
